I think Obama has little chance of being President of the United States. But for the sake of argument, let's say he does win.
If the war in Iraq was still going badly, Obama would say "I know I promised to bring the troops home. But George Bush has screwed this up so badly that we simply can't leave now." However, progress in Iraq is slowly starting to be made. And by the time November rolls around, it is reasonable to assume that we will see more progress. So what will President Obama do when he realizes he can't blame his failure to withdraw on Bush?
Nothing.
He will do nothing. Just like the Democratic majority in Washington did nothing after being elected in 2006 on the promise to end the war. Obama is NEVER going to be known as the man who turned Iraq over to the crazy muslims who want to kill everyone. Never. Not in a million years. Just like the Democrats in Congress didn't want that same distinction after winning power.
We ain't goin' nowhere.

-Hillary is clearly thinking about 2012. She wants to paint herself as a fighter who won't quit so that people remember that way in four years. She knows, like everyone else, that the race for the Democratic nomination has been over since January 4th.
-Regardless, the "fight" for the Democratic nomination is a battle to see who gets the right to lose to John McCain.
-The race between Obama and McCain has not even started, and McCain is statistically tied with Obama in national polling. Once the real battle starts, Obama will start to look worse to Americans. His supporters are dillusional if they think he can win. He has no chance in hell. The Clintons know this. But no one is listening.
-The war in Iraq, once considered the GOPs weakness, will end up being their strength. Americans are not against the war. They are against the death of American troops, and they confuse this with being against the war. But once they are faced with the reality of bailing out and leaving Iraq before the country is safe and able to act as an ally in the war on terror, Americans will not vote to withdraw, which is essentially what a vote for Obama would be. Americans hate failure more than they hate dead Americans. And even if Obama were to win (which he won't) he will never pull the troops out. He will leave the troops there, and blame it on George Bush for screwing up Iraq so badly that we have to stay. You can mark my words on that too.
-The Democrats got elected in 2006 by promising to end the war. They did no such thing. Why? Because they aren't against it. It ain't rocket science.
-If you have an issue with the war, send your letters to this address (but you might want to wait until after January 20th, 2009):

After seeing massive declines in attendance and TV viewership in 2007, NASCAR's new television deals have temporarily stopped the bleeding for the soon-to-be-dead racing league, as slighlty more people are watching on TV in 2008. While some misguided fans will view the improved numbers as a sign that the sport is thriving, in reality, NASCAR has completely stopped growing; a sure sign the sport will be gone in less than a decade.
Since there really are no more ridiculous rules that NASCAR hasn't already created in an attempt to make the sport more watchable to fickle fans who were destined to abandon the sport as quickly as they became obsessed with it, it is now only a matter of time. Unless of course they decide to allow driver to shoot each other by adding some kind of road rage element to the mix.
NASCAR also has yet to reach out to African-American fans, which tells me that a G-Unit car is right around the corner. Or perhaps we will see Jimmy Johnson grow dreads.
